How does the competition work?
Nominations and voting for the winner are both now closed, but you can still find out more about the DBAs who are in the running.
The winner will be selected based on the SQL Server Central community's votes and the judges' verdict, and will be announced on SQL Server Central in September 2011. The award ceremony will take place at the 2011 Pass Summit in Seattle in October.

What are the prizes?
The Exceptional DBA of the Year receives full conference registration for the 2011 PASS Summit in Seattle, where the awards ceremony will take place, four nights' hotel accommodation, and $300 towards travel expenses. They will also be featured on Simple-Talk.
The winner and the finalists will each receive a copy of Red Gate's SQL DBA Bundle with 36 months of support and upgrades. The finalists will also be awarded certificates of recognition.
