Dan McClain the Exceptional DBA of the Year

Over 1000 votes were cast by the SQL Server community

Dan McClain

Dan McClain, Anheuser-Busch, Inc., has been voted the 2008 winner of the Exceptional DBA of the Year by the SQL Server community.

McClain oversees the health and performance of more than 4,000 Anheuser-Busch databases on 300+ servers.

He has been working in information technology for more than 25 years, nearly half of those as a database administrator (DBA).

"It's an honor for me and my team to be elected by my peers for this award," says Dan McClain. "DBAs are often overlooked when it comes to accolades for our work. I accept this for all the DBAs out there who are devoted to managing one of their company’s most precious assets."

Congratulations to Dan and the other 4 finalists, and also to those of you who entered and/or voted - without you the Awards would not have been the success they have proven to be.
